Proceeds from the event will be used by the Consortium as seed money for next year's event, and any money over $1000 will be divided equally among the participating sites.  F.O.G members who volunteer to help at Gathland will be admitted free. Guided Civil War 
Candlelight Tour

This summer will see a first for Gathland State Park in the form of a guided candlelight tour on August 19th, from 8 -11pm. Details to follow in upcoming newsletter.

  • That Townsend lived in New York City from 1874 to 1989.
 
  • When Townsend bought Gapland, farming land was $80--$90 an acre.

All Board meetings are at 7:30pm in Gapland Hall and are open to members.  Meetings may be rescheduled in cases of inclement weather.

This newsletter is a publication of The Friends of Gathland State Park, Inc.  Its intent and use is solely to promote Gathland State Park, which is part of the State Forest and Park Service of the Maryland Department of Natural Resources.  The Friends of Gathland State Park are wholly separate from the Park Service.  The Arch is published quarterly.  The Newsletter deadline is 10 days prior to the first of the month for the next quarterly issue.  We welcome your submissions to the newsletter and reserve the right to edit and determine placement of all items submitted.
