_____ Helping at special events at Gathland State Park (i.e. book signings, Museums by Candlelight tour)
_____ Helping with event planning (phone calling, soliciting donations, putting up posters,etc).
_____ Decorating Gathland Hall, the Lodge or grounds for events.
_____ Providing baked goods or other food items for activities held at the Park.
_____ Docenting in the park museum (a docent is a volunteer trained to answer questions and provide information about a particular site to the public). The museum is open April - October, Saturdays, Sundays & holidays, 12-5pm. Training on Crampton's Gap and George Alfred Townsend is provided.
_____ Can commit to docenting on a given day regularly (i.e. second Saturday of each month, etc).
_____ Training to be a walking tour guide for special events (guide a 30 minute tour and interpret site).
_____ Assisting at work days at the Park , generally held on the third Saturday of every other month, 9am - 12:30pm, to provide basic grounds maintenance, clean up, etc. Groups, scout troops and community service workers welcome!
_____ Would like to help with maintaining, landscaping and planting garden beds at the Park.
_____ Can help with small maintenance/minor carpentry/painting jobs at the Park on an "as need" basis.
_____ Can help with small mechanical maintenance (lawn mowers, weed whackers, etc).
_____ Will help with maintaining/cleaning of comfort stations (during open season; 1 wk. commitment)
_____ Keeping bulletin board at comfort stations up to date.
_____ Interested in the Volunteer Ranger program (training provided).
_____ Staffing a F.O.G. booth at an event outside the park (Brunswick Rail Road Days, Middletown Heritage Days, etc.)
_____ Do preliminary grant writing (members of F.O.G. can help provide specific details).
_____ Will visit library to research foundations that have current funding opportunities for groups like F.O.G.
_____ Have computer skills and would like to assist with scanning/transcribing of information on F.O.G.'s up and coming computer system.
